Interpretation of iDM heat pump regarding COP

The smaller the heat pump, the longer it takes. I've already seen systems where the hot water preparation with a hysteresis of about 5k takes around 2 hours.

I wouldn't know of a heat pump off the top of my head that is so bad that it - to stay in comparison - is so bad that you could even call it a bicycle on the highway. A small heat pump usually means (as an air-water heat pump) about a 5kW unit. And they can all do that well with up to 60 degrees and high flow. If anything, the bottleneck lies in incorrect design, pipe routing/diameter, etc.

In the Ipump from IDM, both the large and the small model have the same storage capacity installed, meaning it simply takes longer for it to warm up.

180l sounds like a lot, but first, you cannot use it 100% because otherwise there would only be cold water left in the tank, and second, losses due to, for example, circulation already cool it down by itself.

Personally, based on my previous experiences, I would completely advise against IDM. In two years, I had the customer service at my house more often than my neighbors had for their oil heating in 15 years.

Thank you for the new answers! That somehow doesn’t sound like what I had read as the general consensus about iDM on the internet. Can you say more about that?

You can buy IDM without hesitation, just like all heat pumps from AUT. They are kind of a benchmark there!
