Maybe there is a chimney builder in the forum who can say whether an installation shaft directly next to the chimney shaft is feasible :D

We solved it exactly that way and it’s absolutely no problem. Where do you have concerns?Hello everyone, we are planning to include a second bathroom on the upper floor in our floor plan, under which there is actually no bathroom or kitchen on the ground floor, meaning the installation shaft is basically in the middle of the living/dining room. But right there we are planning a fireplace. Now the question: could we attach the installation shaft directly next to the chimney shaft? If this projection is somewhat wider, that should not detract from the appearance, as a kind of panoramic fireplace is supposed to go there anyway. I hope I was able to clarify the idea. If that’s not possible, can the installation shaft maybe be shifted so that it doesn’t run through the living room but through the guest room? What is the maximum that is possible here, or does the shaft have to be routed directly down from the bathroom?
