Since no information regarding the development plan, plot, and personal needs has been provided, I cannot say anything about it. I put a lot of effort into writing the questionnaire and posts for the forum. Even if they are somewhat older: if they are not considered, I don't know what else to do. From memory (I'm not going to leaf through the last pages here), the bathrooms could not be used at all. Maybe the one with the shaft, but the location was beyond bad. ;)

If you spend 1.2 million just on housing, then the last maybe 40 or 50 thousand euros for a coherent planning shouldn't be the reason to fail.

I would argue that, fairly accounting for the quality increase through avoiding drywall excesses, an architect's fee is more of a pass-through item than a real cost factor. This is not even about sightlines or "design" in a higher sense yet, but the advantage already starts on a much more mundane level. When I think of the little suicide mission of trying to contribute "own work" as a complete novice during the tender...
