That's true - but the important thing is that it is insured anyway. Even with PA connection, you lose quite a bit there...

But I still prefer to replace the Sat components rather than the whole house because of fire damage - insurance or not. This is not just about being insured, but about preventing damage, even if some here seem to see it differently. These measures seem pointless as long as you haven't seen what can happen in their absence.

Best regards

I never said that it is pointless - after all, I laid the [PA] for the satellite system myself, even though I didn't have to.

Recruiting a specialist is apparently not possible. Then the question remains for me: how can a layperson check whether their -- installed by the commissioned professional ("master of the electrical trade") -- satellite system is correct. What should one pay attention to? What can be detected with the naked eye? What could one ask the electrician (without reading from a script)?

Skilled workers who can demonstrate the DIN EN 60728-11 (VDE 0855-1):2011-06 standard responsible for antenna safety and have internalized it are not easy to find, but they do exist.
[*]As an initial question, one could ask to present the responsible standard or at least name the VDE classification (VDE 0855-1:2015-06) from memory.

[*]MAIN ERROR: The mast clamp and/or the main grounding clamp are not certified according to test standard Class H = 100 kA, which even a layperson can verify on the internet.
[*]Whether the grounding conductor consists of at least 16 mm² Cu (solid or 7 x 1.7 mm), 25 mm² aluminum, or 50 mm² lightning conductor wire can also be determined without the internet.

[*]Installers with lightning protection awareness will warn against the usual (and still not prohibited) indoor routing of grounding conductors with dangerous proximities.
[*]Optimal protection according to the state of the art and according to the standard recommendation with a separate capturing device requires commissioning a qualified lightning protection specialist; electricians without additional qualification are not lightning protection specialists.
Already after the initial question, the field of interested electricians will thin out due to their avoidance.

To get back to the main topic, if the OP doesn't even know what a coaxial cable is, it is not advisable for him to climb on the roof and install the system himself, PERIOD. Install the multiswitch as close to the dish as possible (under the roof) to prevent signal loss. Since I also didn't want to climb on the roof, I had it done and paid about €180 in pure labor costs for the installation. I built a mast or bracket myself; if you buy one, definitely pay attention to quality, as the wind load on a (I assume) 85 cm dish can be extreme.
