I had read that home power storage systems are made from old car batteries anyway. Not?
That was/is an idea to promote the further use of the batteries because recyclability is only partially given. However, it can probably still be classified as a future model at present. To my knowledge, home power storage systems are not yet built/delivered that way today.I had read that home power storage systems are anyway made from old car batteries. Isn't that so?
Car and home battery are only conditionally connected.
Car batteries are practically always lead-acid, home storage systems lithium-ion.I had read that home power storage systems are anyway made from old car batteries. Not?
Car battery for electric cars is something completely different from the starter battery in combustion engines. I believe the old drive batteries of e-cars were meant. In theory, these could be recycled for a home battery, although some companies also claim that they can recycle Li-Ion so well that drive batteries are made from them again.Car batteries are practically always lead-acid batteries, home storage are Li-Ion.
That is clear anyway. It was originally about the claim that the development of drive batteries basically results in cheap home batteries as a by-product.The idea of charging the car from the storage is complete nonsense. Take a look at the discharge power and capacity of home storage. It makes sense to use an intelligent system to charge the excess in summer into the car instead of feeding it into the grid. Of course, this assumes that the car also parks at home during the day – so for home workers and second cars.
