Morning

That certainly won't work, as the system's storage tank only has a standby volume of about 120 liters.

Just imagine a rain shower with 36 ltr/min on this 14kW system. The storage tank will be empty after a few minutes.
If mom in the granny flat has just prepared a bath shortly before, you end up showering with cold water.

Ultimately, it comes down to the flow rate of the water heater, and it may indeed be necessary to adjust the output of the heat generator.

The hot water is not heated by the 0.2 kW/person but by the total output of the generator. The surcharge is only calculated. The building and hot water are not heated simultaneously but sequentially.

The main thing is to be warm, right?!

I find it embarrassing for the company. What is important, as recognized, is the lower limit of modulation. With the current system, you will have to perform the hydraulic and thermal balancing 100% so that the system cycles as little as possible. Because even with gas, wear naturally increases with an on/off configuration. This does not directly affect consumption, but it certainly affects maintenance costs. By the way, I would not want to compare hot water at the soccer club. But even if so, then dig a little deeper into your pocket once. Because then simply a large storage tank with a fresh water station is used. Of course, do not integrate the tank into the heating circuit's hydraulics. Then I have very clean hot water available in large quantities.

I would have it replaced otherwise it cycles constantly... we have installed a Junkers gas boiler with 24 KW. The heating load is somewhere between 5-6 KW. The lowest modulation value is 7.3 KW.... Positive: I have never run out of hot water.

I also trusted the heating engineer, exact quote was: "We install these all the time, they fit and they last forever."... I only noticed it much later, after I kept wondering why it turns on and off so often...

Another side effect: if I want to build a multi-family house on my property later, I won't need to replace the boiler. Everything already fits....

What is the practical consequence of the possibly increased frequency? It has virtually no impact on consumption. Wear and tear? Of what? What is supposed to cost more? In my opinion, it definitely doesn’t pay off to change anything here.
