Hello,
I think we are slowly experiencing a mental block. Would you rather place the couch in front of the window or opposite it?

Couch in front of the window would of course mean more floor space and a more or less direct view of the TV, although that always depends on the position anyway. And is that even that important?
Couch against the wall is initially better feng shui-wise.
Okay, now seriously, a solid wall behind your back should, and I believe also does (evolutionarily speaking), convey more security and comfort than open space behind you (e.g. window / terrace door).
Then, the couch in front of the window could possibly cause heat buildup and maybe even heat cracks in the glass. If you search on Google, you will find quite a few examples that say placing the couch in front of the window does not work at all. But some of these posts are a bit older, maybe more of a problem with older glazing or is it still very relevant?
Then the advantage of the couch against the wall would of course be having a great view towards the garden. And like with Yvonne, for example, you could also illuminate it and see it in winter, etc. etc.
Somehow, we tend more towards the solution of the couch against the wall, TV between the windows. We also don’t watch that much TV and not during the day either.
Space between the two windows for the TV is 200 cm by the way. Even if you leave space on each side, there is still enough room for a 75 inch or something (146 cm). And if we ever get the funny idea of using a projector and screen, the screen can simply be lowered in front of the window (and the blind lowered as well). But we don’t want that at the moment anyway, so the main points are the garden view, solid wall behind the back, etc.
Oh yes, couch against the wall = You don’t see the open kitchen at all. That has always been a concern for us. No, we don’t want a closed kitchen. Yes, we want an open kitchen. No, we still don’t want to look at it all day and not having it directly in the field of view from the couch is a plus. But also that: just a minor issue.
