Hello everyone,
we built and moved into our house 4 years ago (2020).
The door to one room creaks briefly when opened. All other doors are quiet and are supposed to be as expected.
It cannot be the door frame because it has already been aligned and oiled. The problem must be suspected to be the connection between the drywall, door frame, and PVC covering.
But "find-the-error"? We are getting desperate because even the professionals could not completely fix the real cause of the problem on their second attempt. Pictures will follow.
Perhaps there are solutions here in the community?

Thank you.
Best regards, Tarik

Who were these "experts" - installers from the construction company ...

... who apparently already back then were rather unimpressive?
It seems to me that many things regarding shape, fit, and alignment are "not quite straight," where (except for the last option) even oiling helps little. Door frames standing on the floor (even with an air gap) probably aren't exactly top-notch either. I hope the warranty has not expired or been interrupted yet. Under the warranty, the contractor has the right to repair. However, that does not mean letting the contractor himself assess what constitutes a defect instead of an expert. Discuss this with a specialized lawyer and consult an expert.

Just leave the door open. Simple and straightforward solution.

It is likely that the metal frame of the drywall, that is, the studs are under tension.
In our case, it concerns half of the attic: when we moved in 2014 and then the storms became stronger, it felt like the whole upper floor creaked. We had a choice: report defects and have everything opened up or live with the creaking during storms. We chose the latter.

We are not, however. Why despair over a brief creak? That doesn’t have to be. I would suggest relaxing a bit.

Built in 2020? Then contact the company, they must present a solution here.

Thank you very much for the answers. The short creak in a new building is a no-go. Over time, you do get used to the creaking and would be more surprised if it eventually disappeared ;)
