Ikea trash bin Hailo 3631-63 in Metod kitchen

The effort to mount the Euro-Cargo-S would not be worth it for me. For a single Maximera drawer, it is enough to screw a wooden beam to the floor.

That is true, but I still don't understand why one would want to promote the growth of mold and bacteria.

the thing with the growth of mold and bacteria is nonsense in "this" case.
before the new kitchen, I had a trash can with a flap lid, there was regularly mold on it that I had to clean off, because closed trash cans also don't get any air and the trash regularly touched the lid.
with the current system
a. the trash cans are ventilated, so no large residual moisture remains in the trash can (compared to before)
b. the trash no longer has direct contact with the lid, which has enough space above.
I have often taken the lid out to clean, but never noticed dirt (mold etc.) like before
