Hello everyone,

I am currently unclear about what hinges are needed for which purpose. I have already understood that 153° hinges are required for internal pull-outs. But when do you need the 95° / 125° / or 45° hinges!? And what are the advantages and disadvantages?

If anyone is familiar with this, I would be grateful for a brief explanation.

Best regards, schnecki

What do you understand by internal drawers, the hinges are intended for the doors and simply indicate how far a door can open. The 90° for example, so that the door does not hit a wall if the cabinet is installed directly against a wall.

Well, if inner drawers are installed behind a door, then 153° hinges are needed - according to this thread: But what on earth is a 45-degree hinge good for?!

95° for refrigerators and freezers with a swing lever mechanism. 45° for corner wall cabinets. The image of the hinges on the website is incorrect. 125° for most cases. 153° when the door needs to open very wide or for internal drawers, as the hinge also ensures that the door opens without offset.

Thank you Ikea expert!

That was exactly what I wanted to know, precise and to the point.

I also have some questions about this:
- Do I need to take care of the hinges myself when purchasing, or is, for example, a 95-degree hinge automatically included with a tall cabinet for a refrigerator?
- Should the IKEA employee also automatically provide 95-degree hinges where a cabinet stands against the wall?
- Are there dampers for all hinges? I recall that with Faktum, there were no dampers for the 153-degree hinges.
- Regarding dampers, I remember an earlier Faktum thread where it was preferable to buy a combined hinge with built-in damper (Bluemotion or similar) from Blum rather than buying clip-on dampers from IKEA. Is this still the case with Metod?
