Hello,
I want to repurpose a kitchen cabinet as a (built-in) hallway cabinet because I have exactly 180 cm of space for it.
The hallway is 2.60 m high, but there are baseboards at the bottom, so on the lowest few centimeters only 1.78 m of width is available.
However, three Metod tall cabinets should fit perfectly.
Now my question:
I want to make use of the height as much as possible. That probably means I would combine a 2 m tall cabinet and a 40 cm tall upper cabinet (or, of course, three such combinations side by side). Together with the legs, that would result in a height of about 2.50 m.
Now I would really like a 40 cm high drawer at the very bottom, preferably one that doesn’t disappear behind the door.
Is it possible to place the upper cabinet under the tall cabinet? Or is it possible to simply install a 40 cm high drawer with a front at the bottom and have the 2 m tall door just higher up?
Oh, and one small question: It is not necessary to install a stabilizing shelf exactly in the middle of the tall cabinet, right? After all, I want to hang a (somehow self-made) clothes rail inside.
