Hello everyone,

we recently bought a new Ikea kitchen and basically I am happy with everything except for the IKEA Hyllad oven.

The initial pyrolysis was done and then we wanted to use it properly.

Preheating takes what feels like an eternity, yesterday I tried it with convection, it took a full hour to heat up to 180°C.

I can't really get much out of the IKEA manual. I'm on page 30.

I can't be expected to preheat the Hyllad oven for an hour every time?
I mean, a frozen pizza needs 10 minutes in the oven and then I'm supposed to preheat the oven for 1 hour?

Is there a better manual somewhere than this? Or can someone give me better tips?
Or could it be that something is wrong with our wiring or the oven itself?

Thanks for tips and best regards

Hello,
if the pyrolysis worked correctly, the Hyllad oven should actually be properly connected, but sometimes there are connection errors that you only discover once you have experienced them.

Heating up should not take more than 15 minutes. Are all heating modes affected?
Is the oven rack properly inserted? Is the core temperature sensor not connected?

Page 30 only refers to the initial heating to burn off residues.

It sounds more like a fault in the device, so a case for customer service.

Hello and thank you

Apparently the oven and also the stove... were not connected correctly by the specialist .
It will be corrected and hopefully everything will work soon.

Thanks for the tips.

Good thing the error was still found. I would have been surprised if it had been the oven itself. Our Hyllad oven heats up quite quickly anyway. Especially now during the pre-Christmas season, it's particularly important for baking cookies, cakes, or muffins in muffin molds. The stove breaking down would be an absolute disaster for me.

The electrician is here right now and the oven is preheating on the dining table as a test... What annoyed me on the first day was that the stove caused the fuse to blow as soon as it was turned on. That should be fixed now. What still bothers me about the stove are the loud noises, for example when 3 burners are running. It's like aliens exchanging radio waves or something... It is induction and called Smaklig.

Induction cooktops work with an electromagnetic field, so the humming/buzzing noise is inherent to the principle; since every person has their own hearing perception, it bothers some more and others less. It reminds me that I forgot to turn on the extractor hood, then I don’t hear it anymore.

The second noise comes from the fans when they start up to blow the hot air out of the cooktop.

The third noise is a kind of crackling/clicking that happens when the bottoms of the pots are not perfectly flat and the pot vibrates on the ceramic, or when the sandwich bottoms are not optimally tuned to the operating frequency of the cooktop.
