Yes, a separate door for the garden with a dirt lock. We even have a shower there. And in this area (there is also a toilet and a sink) a floor drain is installed. That means it can simply be sprayed out or wiped down. For work shoes, there is a shelving system on the wall; shoe trays lie on the shelves, which can be sprayed off if needed. There is basically nothing standing on the floor there, so it can quickly be vacuumed or mopped.
In general in the house: lots of free surfaces, furniture (bathroom!) hanging on the wall. Also few open shelves in the bathroom, better to store things in drawers and cabinets.
If curtain rods are installed, make sure the curtains can be quickly taken down for cleaning.
Use bookshelves with doors. Coffee tables with drawers, so coasters, tissues, bottle openers, remote controls, etc. can quickly disappear from view and dust.
In the kitchen, make sure little stands around or hangs in the way. So no wall rails with spatulas, but put everything in drawers. Attach suitable gliders under chairs and furniture so they can be easily moved for cleaning. Plan enough power outlets – also set up a cleaning closet upstairs with vacuum and mop so you don’t always have to carry everything upstairs separately.
Hang the TV on the wall or on a swivel arm. In the office, hang the computer under the desk or mount a mini PC on the monitor. Also attach screen(s) to an arm. Don’t lay cables on the floor, but fix them to the desk.
Bedroom: hang nightstands on the wall, they should also have drawers to store small stuff. Also mount bedside lamps on the wall.
Well, but if in my country-style kitchen
Nothing is left standing around anymore, it looks dumb...
There has to be:
One of those nostalgic scales
Fruit basket
Bread box
Storage jars
Yes, I dust them off 10 minutes a week… but that’s what makes it
cozy compared to clean
I always carry the robot from floor to floor, you have to put a few things away before it starts anyway...
At least in the ground floor, laptop cables are always lying around, in the bedroom there is always stuff lying around that
has to go away first...
It’s not just the purchase of a second one...
You also have to take care of it...
Update apps, clean, change brushes...
