The topic of ice storage could not be economically calculated even when scaled up to industrial dimensions, which is why it became a [Ringgrabenkollektor]. I strongly advise against it in single-family homes unless you are very liquid and benchmarking is important to you. It simply won't be cost-effective, I am absolutely sure of that. Companies that manage to do this properly are extremely rare.

What is so important to you about the ice storage? The air conditioning in summer?

Here is a current photo from the study, inside is on the left, outside is on the right.

Autarky is constantly at 100%.

Yes, exactly, it is this system that supposedly doesn’t work and that nobody even wants as a gift, namely simply cooling via the heat pump. It works splendidly and I am currently only working from home because I have temperatures there at which I can think clearly.

How big should the house be. Bauhaus style only works from a certain size. And cubist construction is not Bauhaus style yet… We also calculated an ice storage. It didn’t have enough capacity to heat the pool. For the additional costs, we could have been heating for the next 30 years.

I can confirm, passive cooling via my brine-water heat pump definitely helps to achieve more pleasant temperatures (with summer thermal protection installed at the same time via wall and roof construction as well as external venetian blinds). But eventually that doesn't help as much anymore (very long-lasting heat period).

How did you solve the problem with the condensate, which is quite relevant with this type of cooling?

There is an internal sensor that measures temperature and humidity. In case of condensation risk, the system automatically reduces output.
