A harsh judgment from a distance. Choosing "Ochsner" was certainly a very good decision by the provider. However, the size of the recommended hot water storage tank is surprisingly large.
Providing cooling is sensible.
Shading can be excellently supported with generous roof overhangs.

Selecting a heat pump from a supplier's catalog is not a qualification and certainly not the correct sequence. A fool with a tool is still a fool.
Creating a sensible, efficient system concept is one, if not the, necessary qualification. And fundamentally wrong decisions were made here, yes, assessable from a distance.

Even the choice from the catalog was wrong, as an oversized unit was selected.

Good morning everyone,

here is a little update from me. We have replanned to an air-to-water heat pump. A photovoltaic system with 9.9 KW will be installed as well. We will forgo the cooling function because we have a good roof overhang and sufficient shading, and the cost for 1-2 degrees is not worth it to me.

Do you have experience with Ochsner heat pumps?

Yes, I think so too, it will also be considerably smaller.

I agree with you! With a heat pump, regardless of the source, you simply have to plan and think for yourself and not rely on others.

Thanks for your opinion! Does your heat pump have its own cooling function, or do you simply cool by setting the temperature low (e.g. 22°)? Is it a Rotho heat pump?

My question was supposed to be "Is it a Rotex heat pump?"

No, I just wanted to report on the cooling. We have a Panasonic 5kW heat pump. Good and popular device for little money. Heating engineers unfortunately almost never offer it. We bought it ourselves at our own risk and placed it next to the house in its place without any significant own work.

We use the cooling function by simply running it during the day in sunshine (photovoltaics) via timer. I set the timer myself as needed. However, it also has an automatic function. It is only controlled by outside temperature; there are no thermostats or controllers in the house, neither for heating nor for cooling. In doing so, I set the flow temperature for cooling fixed at 20°, so there is almost no risk of undershooting the dew point.
