IBC tank instead of standpipe for construction water - possible or not?

Good evening!

We are wondering about the possibility of borrowing the riser pipe later because it is very expensive and placing an IBC tank beforehand. In your opinion, is this sufficient? We are building a 140 sqm bungalow with solid construction! From the screed stage, we would then borrow the riser pipe if needed. Has anyone done it this way and has experience? Many thanks!

At the beginning, that might be enough. However, you should discuss it with the respective trades. Some require a certain minimum pressure. Then you might need to provide a good pump additionally. I think, at the latest with the screed, that no longer works...

Yes, that's what I thought too. We have the pump. The riser pipe costs 550 euros deposit, might get run over or stolen, plus 2.50 euros rent per day, 50 euros cleaning, another 20 euros disinfection... Sure, peanuts compared to the construction sum, but I can still use or sell the tank afterwards...

But you definitely need a standpipe. For screed and plaster, we were required to use high-quality water (municipal water); even water from our own well was not accepted. You or the craftsmen remove the standpipe after each use. So it won't be stolen.

Until the screed is laid, the house connection could already be in place. The interior plastering worked for us with a rain barrel and a pump. But as I said, you have to clarify that with the trades. Some need a handover shaft anyway due to too long pipe runs, then the shaft can possibly be installed earlier and you have a proper connection there.

Ok, that would also be possible, true.
We have a hydrant directly in front of the property. Unfortunately, the neighbor has parked her car in front of it and then can’t get out when the standpipe is in place. We have already talked, but one wants to have a good relationship, so for that reason too: as little standpipe as possible would be great!
The responsible employee from the water association is unfortunately never reachable and also slightly overwhelmed... Well, whatever. In any case, there are many reasons why we want to rent this part so late and as little as possible.
