Hello dear forum community,
After a long search, we have found a suitable house that meets most of our wishes, including seclusion, large plot, close to nature, around 200sqm of living space, an outbuilding that can be used as a workshop, etc.
The house is a two-story, solidly built house, fully basemented with an unfinished attic. The living space of the two floors is about 200sqm.
The balcony and terrace face south, offering a breathtaking wide view, as the house is situated on the lower slope of an approximately 100-meter-high mountain.
The house was built in the early 80s and has not been renovated since, so the flooring, bathrooms, etc., are correspondingly outdated.
The layout of the rooms is also not yet optimal for us.
The house is meant to accommodate mom and dad with two small children and two dogs.
Our dream would be for one floor to have the kitchen, dining room, living room, and a small bathroom, and the other floor to have two children's rooms, parents’ bedroom (ideally also a dressing room), playroom, and a larger bathroom.
With this dream in mind (and a house planning software), we began to change the rooms. The goal was to remove or move as few walls as possible.
We are very satisfied with the ground floor; the kitchen is now open to the dining room, the dining room and living room are connected by a large wall opening, and the dreamlike view can be enjoyed from both the dining room and the living room. From the living room, there is also access to the terrace.
We are not yet satisfied with the upper floor. The two children's rooms (south side of the house) are different sizes (a minor problem). We found no possibility to plan a dressing room adjacent to the parents’ bedroom. The former living room is now a playroom, but the tiled stove in there is almost wasted. The bathroom is on the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms.
Since I tend to be one of the less creative people, I would now like to ask the forum for alternative suggestions and ideas.
Unfortunately, the room labels are written very small, and I cannot change this.
The two plans with the parquet floor show the current room layout, the two plans with the light wooden floors show the latest version of our planning.
Thank you very much in advance and best regards
