Hello dear Ikea fans,
there has been a question burning on my mind for several days now, which I cannot definitively answer despite my own research. I hope you can enlighten me. ;o)
So I ask myself:
How many drawers with tofta fronts fit into a Besta unit with the dimensions 60 cm / 64 cm / 40 cm (H / W / D)?
By searching images, I found that apparently four 16 cm drawers fit, which also cover the upper and lower edge of the carcass.
In the end, I would also like to have this effect of covering the carcass edges; however, only with two drawers (2 x 26 cm) or three drawers (2 x 26 cm 1 x 16 cm).
Anyone who does quick mental math will immediately notice that this cannot work due to the total height of the respective drawer compositions. Either there is a gap (with 2 x 26 cm) or the fronts would protrude endlessly at the top and bottom.
I also once saw a "hack image" where, I believe, a 26 cm drawer was attached at the top and below it a somewhat larger front. I would estimate the size ratio of the two fronts from memory at about 1/3 to 2/3. But such fronts apparently do not exist... maybe that’s the hack? =)
I would definitely be very happy if someone with good experience on this topic would support me.
How can I use drawers with white high-gloss fronts in a 64 cm high carcass without having to use four 16 cm drawers and still cover the entire front without "air gaps"?
Thank you in advance for your kind support!
Best regards
P.S.: One of my thoughts was also to shorten the carcass to a height of 52 cm so that I can simply use two 26 cm drawers. Would this be - in theory - possible?
