How long is the use of construction power possible?

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me a little. We had our prefabricated house delivered the day before yesterday, so far everything went well. Our problem is that the plot is not yet developed, the work for the development will begin in the next two weeks. The site manager now wants the house to be connected, the energy provider says that this is not the usual procedure. There is nothing in the house yet that could be connected and even then they could use the construction power, which is available. However, I am a layman and a bit overwhelmed. As a layman, I would have said to use the construction power as long as the house is not developed. For the construction power, a provisional overhead line was installed that supplies two plots, so if we want to be connected before that, it can be done, but it does not change the fact that it is only construction power, and the street would have to be dug up twice. I hope I was able to explain my question well :-) Best regards, Max

Hello Max,

normally, the supply line is brought from the street to the property and then the construction power is connected.

When the house connection is installed later, the construction power box is removed and the existing cable, which is already connected to the lead line, is connected via a splice to the cable that then goes into the house.

The house connection is basically done in two steps.

Then it could be done the other way around here:
From the current construction power, which is supplied via overhead line, the house connection cable could be laid through the multi-duct into the house and connected.

As soon as the lead line is in the street, the construction power box is removed, and then the cable already in the house is disconnected from the construction power and extended to the street and connected to the lead line.

The same principle, just reversed.

I have been working in a civil engineering company for 1.5 months.
We do a lot of house connections but I haven’t come across such a case so far.
However, I wouldn’t see why it shouldn’t work.

Thank you very much for your response, it definitely helps me. Now I know that it works. Our problem is that the development has been delayed too far backwards. Yesterday afternoon I spoke with the electrician in charge at the construction site and asked him if he can use the construction power until the house is connected. He said that this is not a problem. I simply hope now that this problem is resolved. Best regards, Max
