For both and even more cases, there are individual packages. Ok, not every module is possible separately. But if I want to insure myself individually because, for example, I have a collection, technical equipment, or am often in the hospital, or the household contents in the caravan should be insured too, then that goes beyond Basic. Then you have to choose Better or Premium. (Or whatever they might be called)

Yes, that’s how it is! Everywhere. Where something exists, you also have to use it. Provided you declared it. What comes of this in case of damage – I don’t know.

They all are in our houses... also our insured values are no longer secured with a latch lock. Long live the standard of a modern single-family home.

Don’t you have an old insurance? The old ones have fewer restrictions and fine print... my parents still have their bicycles insured... Times change with insurance companies, just as our demands change in house construction.

My tip (layman): Go through the portals and choose 2-3, preferably also ones you already have or know. Insurance companies are more lenient if you already have insurance with them.
But it can also be that your current provider is adaptable. Always keep in mind that the portals only recommend those who have “registered” there.

It is also the question of the expectation from an insurance. As a policyholder, do I want to come out of an accident financially unharmed or is it enough for me to protect myself against ruin. Orientation towards the goal helps. ;)

Something different on the topic... After many years, I canceled my household insurance because it no longer fits my current situation. Meanwhile, I live in my own home... now my question: is it advisable to have both household and building insurance with the same insurer? My neighbor gave me this tip, as he said that in the event of a claim, two insurances wouldn’t have to negotiate with each other. In my opinion, the items to be insured are clearly separated... what do you think? Does what he says make sense, or do I now have the free choice and can look for just any insurance?

Household contents are relatively clearly defined, right? Movable objects in the house are insured against damage caused by fire, everything that is permanently installed in the house and cannot be taken along when moving is not.

I would also strongly assume that insurance companies operate similarly to any other companies. Team A fights for itself and has to deliver numbers, Team B likewise, and so on. That means even if you have both policies with one insurer, the household insurance team will try to keep the settlement as low as possible and the building insurance team will do the same. The likelihood of that is quite high in any case.

The killer for every company... just as a side note. The goal is to think as an entire company. But I absolutely agree with you on the rest. Thanks!

It doesn't run differently in any DAX company, you can be sure of that ;)
