A wine cooler is, I believe, cheaper you simply plan the space for it in the kitchen

Wine coolers also look pretty stylish, in my opinion. Unfortunately, nobody here drinks wine.
I also like filled bookshelves in living rooms. Unfortunately, nobody here has taken up reading as a hobby and if they did, it would be digital.
What a pity

Here is a quote from Zeit-Online, today, on the occasion of the storms in northern and eastern Germany:
Anyone who spots the typical air vortices of a tornado should by no means watch the natural spectacle from the window, according to the DWD expert. "The best thing to do is to go to the basement and definitely not stand in front of doors and windows," said Friedrich. Those traveling by car should not stay there: "The car can become a deadly trap."

No classic basement.
We already have a 13-meter height difference on the property, and digging down further just for windowless storage space is pointless.

We still have old stock.
A nice old above-ground sandstone cellar with a clay floor on the property.
If I ever get bored and set up a vegetable and fruit garden, apples and the like will store better in that sandstone cellar than in concrete anyway. Otherwise, it is used for overwintering garden furniture and tools.
The old tractor garage has also been left standing and will house winter tires, bicycles, welding equipment, and such.
