Ug 0.7 are _not_ the most expensive windows and therefore _not_ the best! If you build strictly according to the Energy Saving Ordinance, you will have to install additional insulation, aka the 15% rule formerly Kfw 70, as well as a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery. In total, this will be so expensive that you can switch to an air-to-water heat pump – without additional costs ... unless you want to build on barren branches. In your place, I still would not want to do without a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery ;) Rhineland greetings

With a basement, space is not that much of an issue. If the drilling alone supposedly costs around €20k, I do think it’s worth it.

@all I never said that the air-water heat pump is not properly installed. He just said that he does not want to operate it because his philosophy is rather against it. It’s no different than installing a Swedish stove and never lighting it. Honestly, I don’t see the problem now.
