Hello everyone,

unfortunately, I have not yet found any information here in the forum for this special case. What is it about? The house connections (electricity, water, telecommunications) via multi-utility are located in the utility room. The garage is to be placed in front of the house only after the house is completed and thus partly in front of the utility room. The overlap would then be 1-2 meters, since the lines could then be pulled out diagonally sideways under the garage. However, the floor slab will already be poured together with the house floor slab. Have you had such experiences? Is this possible for all utility providers? There may be exceptional regulations here that at least allow this for water.

I am grateful for your experiences/assessments. Have a nice weekend!

Hello,
It is best to ask the building authority.

We would have been allowed to build over the water connection with the garage.

But that always seems to be at the discretion of the responsible authority.

We are building in Hesse.

Best regards and have a nice Sunday

Thank you for the quick response. We are building in NRW.

Can utility providers sometimes refuse a subsequent overbuilding of existing lines, even though there is a permit from the city? The plans do not show when which building structure will be constructed. We probably should discuss this with all parties.

You should have received a contract with terms and conditions from the municipal utilities for the installation of a house connection. It states what you are allowed to do and what you are not. According to our standard accessibility of the lines must be ensured at all times Encroachments are not permitted Additional costs will be charged to the owner

Hi, regardless of what is written somewhere... do you know any case where they had to access the pipes again later? Something like that might happen in 50-80 years, but then it simply won't be your problem...

But I would still only build over it if you are sure that all the pipes are tight and okay.

Regards,

Andreas
