Thank you very much. The tank is buried, so underground.

So the additional costs would pay off after about 7-8 years. If you also have to pay for the disposal of the old tank, then maybe another year more. I am also surprised here that the contract I am supposed to sign mentions a 1200 kg container.

Oh yes, house size: approx. 190 sqm living space

Thank you very much - I had just found that out too, but forgot to edit it here. As it seems, the line to the meter also belongs to Primagas, but I will only find out exactly when the employee is back from vacation. What I have definitely found out now is that 2.56 euros/cm is extortionate. I have now calculated it roughly based on the estimated consumption and that would mean additional costs of about 750 euros/year. (Minus maintenance and initial investment in an own tank).

Maybe someone here has taken the same route that I now (possibly) want to take.

I would also not like to be tied to a company. When I read that one signs a maintenance contract for the heating system and thus binds oneself to the company for many years, even when constantly having problems with them, I prefer to find someone who performs the maintenance as needed and then keep hiring them to do the maintenance until they become too expensive or otherwise get on my nerves.

So I can understand your concern very well.

I am not a lawyer, but since you do not have a contract with the gas supplier, they should actually remove the tank at their own expense and also restore the garden accordingly. That would at least be my opinion. But for that, I would, for example, ask at the consumer advice center. They can certainly say more about it.

And one more thing. In your posts you sometimes write:

Euro/qm

or

Euro/cm

I realize you probably mean Euro/m³ or Euro/cbm, then it should also be written that way.

Please don’t be upset about the sentence now. It’s just easier to understand what is meant when the correct abbreviations are used.

I cannot imagine that the contract is void due to the sale of the house. Here, the gas supplier advanced payment and has provided a service that they want to be paid for; you will probably only get out with higher costs.

When you buy a house with natural gas, you do not buy the supply contract. It is terminated by the previous owner and the new owner has to take care of it.
When you buy a house with an oil heating system, the oil also becomes the property of the new owner.

And with liquefied petroleum gas, it should also be up to you if you choose a supplier.
I find it surprising that the delivery price of €0.63/L is higher than the indicated average (which you can google on the web). Are you perhaps comparing gross with net prices somewhere?

And what does the contract say about the rental tank?

If the installment is €150, it could also be that the consumption of the previous owner was very high. Or rather, the consumption depends on how big the place is, etc. And then I don't find €150/160 so high anymore. It's more than an older row house or a new building, but still within reason and understandable.

I am now reading that these numbers are for the new contract. What kind of contract is that? One where you have flexibility? Those are expensive... or what consumption did you assume?
I would have the previous owners’ annual bill given to me and compare carefully.

I just can’t imagine that they are proportionally much more expensive.
