You don't have to manage this within a year. But starting with less than €20,000 in equity is simply not possible. Double that would be better.

Well, then just set realistic goals for yourselves. It is a test (for you, not for the forum).

If you take out a loan of 350,000 euros today at an interest rate of 2.5% p.a. and pay an annuity of 1,100 euros/month, the term will be 44 years and in the end you will have paid 575,000 euros. Maybe you can better put 20,000 euros into perspective now . But again, I will not get hung up on specific numbers, you have to see that for yourselves ...

Bien-Zenker has several finishing levels. The "ready for equipment" level still requires a lot of work and money. You can view the finishing levels on their homepage (Menu > Construction method > Finishing levels).
Best regards

Not even without rent?
You would definitely more or less break even if you build.

I’m really surprised that although the equity is in the garage, it was inherited. Even if you care for it, no €1000 per month go into the hobby.
Therefore, you should basically consider where your money is going or whether you even want to spend the money that a house costs monthly.
Often you have to choose between hobby and homeownership.
For you, a fixed garage is also a must. ...

The desire for a home is not a sudden decision

Oh, I think that is possible after all. Definition of a hobby: the greatest possible investment with the smallest possible benefit.

I don't know what to say to your answer now....
You don't want to hear it, but building a house is not a good idea/option for you at the moment.

Buying/financing a plot of land separately is a very, very good idea. That's what I did and I would do it again anytime. Even though my circumstances are completely different.
