Hello people,
apparently you all have quite a lot of knowledge about the subject here. I hope someone can help me too!
I plan to install my sink in a corner. Generally no problem, but I have to bridge 2-3 cabinets up to the drain. Hence my question:

Is it possible to do this without cutting the parts if the pipes/hoses I want to use are about 5cm in diameter?

Or does someone perhaps have an idea how I can do this in a way that is gentle on the materials?

Many thanks!!

hello,
if the sink absolutely has to be that far away, you basically only have the following options
1. to lay the pipe under plaster,
2. to cut out the cabinets and let the pipe run through the cabinets,
3. to shorten the cabinets there altogether, or
4. to set up the cabinets with the appropriate distance from the wall and use a deeper (and thus much more expensive) countertop.

in any case, you also have to consider whether you will get a sufficient slope.

Hello SornTwo!

I can ONLY recommend the variant suggested by Ikea-Expert to place the cabinets with a gap.

This has a whole number of advantages.

1.) You have a deeper countertop, which gives you a lot more space in everyday life.

2.) You have no problems attaching a cable, hose, wastewater pipe, or other installation stuff easily.

3.) If, like me, you screw a corresponding wooden beam to the wall at the back – I have done this continuously with 8x8 cm thickness – it is easy to screw the Faktum cabinets to it with the keyhole plate. If you have to fix the Faktum carcasses directly to a wall, you almost always have to use wall plugs, and WALL PLUGS at least always end in disaster for me.

4.) Since you are already using a deeper countertop anyway, you can make it so deep that it overhangs nicely at the front, and spilled milk will at least run on the floor and not into the drawers!

I got my countertop at the local DIY store. If you stick to common designs, there is hardly any price difference between 60 cm depth and 80 cm depth, and common options are available from stock. The carpenter cut the countertops to size, made the cutouts, and also applied professional edge banding all around (right - left - back). Then the 2m and the 3m parts were delivered the next day already.

Good luck with your planning - fotokatze

Leave out the back panel, try to get the pipe under the cabinet and then back up on the other side. That way you might only cut the floor in one corner per cabinet.

In Assamere's solution, the entire pipe would be a giant siphon in which the brew stands.
