With such massive own contributions as Kerbe announced, construction costs come to €1,200 to €1,400. The €3,000 is correct if you only wallpaper and lay floors as many do.

I can confirm that. We also did, for example, earthworks and drainage in own work. It cost us a good 3k for renting the equipment and some labor. The excavation was taken to a field that belongs to us. Savings of about 20k. Electrical work completely by ourselves, about 10k for materials (with connections to the wholesale trade). Savings also around 20k. Roof covering, roof insulation, vapor barrier, and interior drywalling in own work, savings 15-20k. Among acquaintances there are window and shutter builders as well as tinsmiths. Actually, only heating and sanitary as well as masonry and concrete work were fully contracted out. That way you can save quite a bit. But it is certainly neither normal nor the standard case. You have to be able to do something yourself and above all know many and the right people as well as have good connections. Timewise, it should also be planned rather relaxed, and you just have to accept that during the construction you have very limited free time.

Yes, we actually have almost every trade represented in the family (some with master qualifications) and a large circle of friends who are very helpful. The electrical work is done by a friend who is a master electrician.

Because both civil engineering and shell construction are carried out through self-performance, I think that one can manage with well under 3000 €/m2 here – at least that is the big hope. We have no great time pressure but are fully aware that the next year will involve sacrifices. But it is worth it to us.
