I have also considered commissioning the room-by-room heating load calculation and planning of the underfloor heating privately and then handing it over to the [GU] or heating engineer as a template. Would you do that as well? Has anyone ever had experience with [TGA-Manager (.de)]? It costs about 400 EUR in total.

According to my energy consultant (KFW 55), the [GU] or heating engineer is also obliged to do this and later provide proof based on a [VDZ] form. Would you still do it with the thought that they probably won't put much effort into the calculations?

Have you had experience with other providers and if so, at what costs? So it's about the complete program with heating load calculation and hydraulic balancing "according to method B."

Unfortunately, I can’t send a PM yet (what a rule...). You can write to me if you want, I don’t want to make public advertising here in the forum now. Regarding the other question: Yes, at the beginning the total heating load is estimated/calculated to see how big the heat pump needs to be. After that comes the room-by-room design for the underfloor heating. But I find the approach unnecessary. Only with the room-specific heating load do you have the really realistic sizing of the heat pump. It’s more for heating installers to estimate costs for a quote.

Hello everyone,

I have been reading along in this forum for a long time, this is my first post, an introduction will follow in the coming days

Now I’ll just briefly join in here, as I also have a question.
I asked my heating engineer whether a room-by-room heat load calculation is performed, since the underfloor heating should of course be optimally designed.
The answer was: "Yes, heat load according to DIN EN 12831 is calculated by our system technician." Is this the room-by-room calculation or something general that covers the entire house? It is a prefabricated house, but the floor plan is individual for us, thus "unique."

A few brief details: timber frame construction - Tecalor THZ 5.5 eco - scheduled installation presumably September 2020 - trades are handled by the prefab house company

Regards

Best to start your own thread...
So the contract is already signed? What was agreed upon in the contract?

Well, unfortunately, I can't send a PM either. Completely stupid rule. With over 150 forum posts, one should have been enabled for that a long time ago.

In any case, we would all be interested in your recommendation here, and honestly, this is not advertising since you don't get paid for it. And in forums like this, numerous brands etc. are also discussed, and it is precisely this exchange that is helpful.

So it would be great if you could openly describe your experience here once more. Thanks!!!

Just google Ingenieurbüro Heckmann. As I said, I find the calculations very good and the design of the underfloor heating is exactly as you would like:
- 17x2mm pipe
- no loops much longer than 85m
- loops of equal length
- tight laying spacing (almost consistently 5cm for us) to keep the supply temperature low.
- no unrealistic heating load values for the rooms

Moreover, he responds quickly to questions and can answer them competently.
