Had the roof overhang painted - result is blotchy - what to do?

Do you mean the roof overhang is poor because of the quality of the paint or because the facade was messed up? Because the facade is going to be completely repainted.

Because of the painted facade. Ok, if the whole house is done, it’s bearable, or rather fixable. I was already wondering that you didn’t criticize that. The paint is not exactly even either, but maybe it was already like that before and it just shows through now.

But did they already prepare/clean the facade for the new paint, or are they painting over the "dirt"? Preparation completely (roof overhang/facade), then paint from top to bottom...

Yes, the facade was prepared and cleaned.

In our opinion, it looks good everywhere except in the "interior area" of the terrace (1st picture above). Exactly where the surfaces were sprayed and not painted with a brush/roller.

Do you think sanding would improve the whole thing or perhaps even make it worse?
