For us, a well doesn't make sense because a) the permit can be revoked at any time and the water quantity is limited and b) my neighbor has a well and the total cost was somewhere around 6-7k€. By the time it pays off, I'll be retired.
That's a pity, those are really reasons against it. But I was more referring to the statement by that wasting drinking water or a 78sqm cistern are the only options.
For us, the (admittedly not optimal) driven well cost about 1000 EUR and didn't require a permit. That pays off pretty quickly.
