Hello, I have 90sqm on the ground floor, 86sqm upstairs, 1 meter knee wall with 4.60 ceiling height. Gas condensing boiler without solar, 100cbm water per year, so not economical, 2 people 3200 kWh per year. 385€ gas bill was not a problem for us. The house is built to passive house standard

It was not enough for us.
Back then Kfw 70 - corresponds to the current minimum requirement of the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016.

We have the 5.4sqm solar system with gas, plus controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery and a thicker roof insulation. The solar system does not hurt us.

There is a great Excel sheet from the University of Kassel that allows you to perform the calculation yourself.

Thanks to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016, it probably won't be enough and the solar system is necessary.

However, not because of better efficiency but only because of the legally prescribed factor...

No offence, but why go to the extra effort (cost) for a passive house and then put a fossil energy generator in the house? To me, it feels like stopping halfway and not fully following through on the concept...

But I’m happy to learn.

Because it is probably more of a house with a lot of insulation, maybe improved windows, but still not a passive house. In such a house, the gas boiler would simply be taboo.
