The hand must be skilled, otherwise you get patchy grass =) I would get a spreader (from Gardena or similar) for 30 euros, with which you can both set the dosage well and do a clean job... You can then also use the spreader later for fertilizing the lawn (although I always only use natural fertilizer from Neudorff, for example) or for spreading grit in winter, etc... A garden roller wouldn't be bad either, mine cost 45 euros online... But you can probably also rent one somewhere
