Yes, I was meticulous about that. It's a completely natural fertilizer! Our little one isn't even 1 year old yet.

Yes, you definitely have to think about that. Although the youngest will be 3 in the fall, the other two are 9 and 13. So their swinging, etc., is within limits and they are old enough to "shake themselves off." Access to the house after playing is then through the utility room door, since the play area is in the north garden ;) But if there are better alternatives to sand, we are open to everything!

That's great. I would definitely find it interesting to see how everything has turned out now. ;) The apple tree is great. You couldn't see how big it was in the first picture.

So from everything I've just read, this rounded gravel is apparently also a good alternative... It should be like in the picture. We have it on our playground and it's really comfortable barefoot... ;)

We also don’t do everything at once – financially that’s just not possible.
But at the moment, I don’t know to what extent the w. will have to come back with an excavator or a truck for the terrace (w. additional gravel), because the current gravel base might not be sufficient. Then they would have to deliver over our topsoil, and the heavy truck will leave wide rut patterns in the fresh lawn.

By the way – the garden house/tool shed will also only come next year – but I still want to have the gravel base laid for it this year (same access problem).

We have the access problem anyway. The gravel for the terrace was also brought up there by wheelbarrow. And the terrace will still need to be filled up a bit... But our guys will handle that. ;)
