I just looked up the KFW funding again. Actually, it would probably be possible to get the funding even if you heat with wood. In the document "Anlage zum Merkblatt Klimafreundlicher Neubau - Wohngebäude Technische Mindestanforderungen" it says the following:
That would probably be fulfilled.
Friends and acquaintances who have recently built to EH55 standard have all not installed ventilation systems and have no problems. Of course, if you don’t want to ventilate, you will need one. But this way you can save about €10,000.
In buildings, heat generators based on the following energy sources may not be used:
• based on fossil gas/oil,
• based on coal fuels and peat,
• based on fossil-produced hydrogen,
• based on biogenic gas/oil, or
• based on solid biomass.
The exclusion for use also applies to combinations, e.g., condensing boilers with systems for using renewable energies (hybrid systems). The use of the above-mentioned energy sources is possible up to a share of 30% of the annual cumulative useful heat output within a building network, if at least one building supplied by the building network was built before 1995 or if a building permit was applied for before the Wärmeschutzverordnung 1995 came into force on 01.01.1995.
That would probably be fulfilled.
