From where is the 5.50m distance between the garage and the street measured?

We will now forgo the carport (see photo) and instead have a prefabricated garage installed. The road runs at an angle. According to the development plan (see pink marking in the photo excerpt), a distance of 5.50m must be maintained between the road and the garage. Does anyone know if the 5.50m distance to the garage is measured on the longest side (i.e., the boundary to the neighbor) or the shortest side? Or must the 5.50m distance be maintained along the entire course of the road?

My husband says that since the road runs at an angle, he can choose (technician, after all; he believes in physical laws but not in administrative regulations) :) but he does not want me to call the building authority and verify it. ;-) Now I am worried that if the garage (on the expensive foundation slab) is built, we will have to tear everything down again if we only maintain the 5.50m distance on the longer side.

Thank you very much for your help.

Draw a parallel line to the road at a distance of 5.5m. The area must remain clear.

"From garages (...) a minimum distance of 5.50 m must be maintained to public traffic areas"

If you draw a line at a distance of 5.5 m parallel to the "traffic area" in your plan, you have the answer - I think that crossing this line - no matter with which corner - is simply not allowed.

Just call and ask ;)

To my knowledge, the distance must be maintained everywhere. So perpendicular from the garage. I share this concern.

The purpose of this distance is also that a car can stand in front of the garage in order to, for example, first get out and open the manually operated garage (if you forgo the automatic option), without any part of the car standing on the street.

The 4.40 should be the 5.50.
