I think we are talking past each other. Or I don’t understand you. Opening only the upper part is not the solution to my problem. When I open, I want to step out, and I don’t necessarily want to rearrange anything. So it’s not about ventilation for me.

I assume that the sofa is worst case positioned as shown: then a two-part division in height will help you pivot the opening wing over the backrest of the sofa. To step out, however, you have to move the sofa away and also be able to open the element at the bottom (i.e. Klöntür). All as an alternative to the inward opening, in order to avoid a clash between the venetian blind and the patio door. I only recommend opening outwards in connection with a awning instead of a venetian blind.
