I am well aware that we won't win any architectural awards with the upper floor. But if you mentally block out the access to Child 2 twice, we actually quite like the rest of the upper floor and I don't see anything else that wouldn't work. All other variants for accessing this room that we have played through so far require some additional square meters of corridor space. Oh yes, the electrician is a good acquaintance; he will also do it with 1m width in front of the cupboard.

And if your dad or you yourself are going to do it: rules will have to be followed! Safety has the highest priority.
At some point, your child will also have to approach this cabinet, just like an electrician who is not known to you. Then there will be a penalty for exactly this acquaintance.
