I don’t think the planner is the problem. Instead, it is probably trendy wishes that are in contrast to the budget or the size of the house.

[*]For the dressing room, the house is too small
[*]For the freestanding bathtub, the bathroom is too small
[*]For the backup kitchen, the house is too small
[*]For a cooking island, the house is too small
[*]For a generous living-dining area (by this I mean 80 m2 and more for kitchen, dining, and living), the house is too small

All these special features come at the expense of the children and usability. I recommend checking various prefab house floor plans. They are usually very efficient in terms of space utilization.

Well, a kitchen island is possible with a 60m² living room, just not that big. Pantry and backup kitchen(?)... you don't need that, even if 12 people regularly eat there. Large cooktop, 2 ovens. A layman can't handle more anyway.

To clarify the topic of the back kitchen, currently it is still planned too large, but it still has its purpose and meaning. As a combination of work surface/storage space, food (since there is no basement), and possibly a second sink plus the accommodation of numerous appliances (and here I would want to distinguish myself from a layman), such an area behind the kitchen seems to me a really sensible addition.

Thank you very much for the honest and constructive feedback, but I cannot agree with this comment and find it almost cheeky to make an indirect accusation "at the expense of our children." After all, it is our dream house and we are very much considering that potential children should have a nice home too.

It's your house. You are buying the space with disadvantages in the main living area. And I don't want to offend you, but I am an amateur cook, a close relative is a master... he makes 10 courses for 12 people in a 12m² kitchen with one oven and a 60cm cooktop...

Are you a trained cook? If not, you are a layman, just like me ;)

Yes....potentially... you don’t have children yet and with all respect and understanding... therefore you have no idea what life with children looks like and what takes priority... no accusation, I didn’t know either... and honestly I had overlooked that you don’t have children yet...

That basically changes everything. You won’t have time to constantly cook for 12 people when 1 or 2 kids are running around.
