Could the floor plan of the granny flat be adjusted so that the granny flat becomes 0.33m narrower and the whole house shifts slightly to the left?
Awesome! That’s a really good idea. We also have space in the building zone to the north and south of the granny flat, so we could add the lost few square meters there. The terrace of the granny flat on the west side, which we thought had to be within the building boundaries, is according to the district office allowed to extend beyond them, so we can carry out the shift without making any rooms in the granny flat smaller. I’ll post a before-and-after of the ground floor here once our architect has implemented it. Many thanks for this good, simple idea, which also means that nothing at all needs to change on our building section, except that it just shifts 33cm to the left – we were so focused on recessing corners and all sorts of other things that we couldn’t see the forest for the trees with this shift. Thanks thank you thank you!
