Well, I assume that the OP has been working on his draft for some time. That’s why the answers are not easy for him to digest as preliminary input; it takes a bit.

Hello everyone,

thank you very much for your comments. The floor plans are just meant to be an idea, nothing more. We will sit down with an architect in the next few days and then see what is feasible. In any case, I will consider some of the suggestions/criticisms mentioned here and incorporate them. I hadn’t even thought about things like the 2-meter line regarding the washbasin, but I think the architect will take that into account.

Actually, I avoid answering rhetorical questions. Apparently, my intention was clearly recognizable after all.

People should also be granted time for reflection and processing. Sometimes you read things on mobile and reply later. Sometimes a united front forms here, forcing the OP into a defensive stance or tearing down their work so much ("back to square one" and the like) that I can quite understand the lack of responses. That does not make your feedback technically wrong, as you really do see some gems here, but try to put yourself in the other perspective as well.

Hello,

I absolutely do not see in this thread that the OP was forced into a defensive attitude.

Maybe would like to say something about whether he felt that way?

Of course, it is not nice when one’s own work mostly receives critical remarks, but it is up to the person asking the question whether they want to consider the (mostly well-meaning) suggestions or stick to their unchanged draft.

However, when a draft is posted here, I have always given my personal, honest opinion because the questioners have specifically asked for it.

That was also the case for me in 2013/2014 when I made my first "attempts" here in the forum and had to take some justified criticism for our amateur plans.

If we had not been pointed out to one or the other "odd corner" in the house back then (from our own experiences), we would probably be annoyed almost daily today about some planned "nonsense."

Today I am thankful for the often frank statements back then, as they undoubtedly helped us immensely in building our dream house.

Therefore:

: If my comments actually “brought you down,” as suggested, that was definitely not my intention – I think with this statement I can speak for most of the people writing here.

Best regards,

Dirk

My remarks were also of a rather general nature ("sometimes") based on what I observe. This thread is still comparatively mild - I am specifically criticizing the impatience here, because 20 hours is nothing. Recently, someone only got back days later due to a business trip. It’s not a drama (but it read like one before the OP's response).

thank you very much for your words. The fact that I replied only after 20 hours has something to do with the fact that I first wanted 3-4 comments on the floor plan, then I was only online with my phone and waited for a small buffer so that I could reply on the PC. Of course, after so many answers you have to sort things out and make a few more thoughts about the floor plan, but I am grateful to each and every one here for their answers, these did not bring me down at all but were rather a good impulse to think. I created the draft one evening casually on the couch. Therefore, this is not a floor plan that we want 100% now, it was rather meant for us to see what might be possible. And I find personal opinions that are not always nice better than if everyone here had said, wow great do it like that.
