how is that supposed to work in the bathroom? Whether the child goes to the toilet or you... every time you first have to go to the end of the bathroom and close another door. Later you have to unlock both again. My two children would never manage that and I would always be standing in front of the locked bathroom door and have to go around again, very inconvenient.
Best regards
Sabine
Hello Sabine,
good point, I had mentioned that to my wife as well (the two bathroom doors are her absolute wish). But the bathroom upstairs is mainly used by us and we never lock it anyway. That will surely change when the kids reach puberty. The idea is possibly to indicate if someone is in the bathroom via a control light in the light switch or something similar. We will discuss that with our electrician - otherwise, of course, we are open to further suggestions :-).
Otherwise, I would especially appreciate opinions on the location of the fireplace and the living room in general - particularly also regarding the windows on the left side of the plan. Thank you very much.

Believe me, when the kids are in puberty, they will lock the bathroom door, and a control light won’t help. My kids used to mostly leave the doors open, but that changes once puberty starts; from then on ALL doors are ALWAYS closed :). I would think about that very carefully before you end up standing in front of the locked bathroom door for years and constantly have to go all the way around.
