I like the consistency of your thinking and the practically oriented interpretation of the concept of quality. From my point of view, there are indeed important non-functional quality characteristics. Original image or good print – both equally durable. I prefer living with the original. It has a completely different quality.

Ne Hampshire, quality is actually a relative concept in the product process, which is related to it. For every product, you have to define what it should be able to do, how it should look, and how durable it should be. If your product can do, perform, deliver what you want, the quality is good; if it can even do some things better, then it is top etc. Something different is Aisthesis, aesthetics, impression, feeling, effect. You won’t capture a Breughel with the concept of quality, nor a designed piece of furniture by Jacobsen. Surely, an original Jacobsen piece of furniture will also have good to very good quality in terms of durability, material quality, and precision fit, but that has nothing to do with the Aisthesis of this chair. That is a different league. Karsten

I agree with that. And then there are qualitative differences - between concrete roof tiles and clay tiles – when it comes to avoiding lichen growth. - between a plastic window and a wooden window – when it comes to considering the property of environmental friendliness (which one is better is another matter) - between technical designs – when it comes to not exceeding a certain material thickness with the same stability - between lamps – when it comes to considering glare freedom, light color, and uniformity of light distribution - between building materials – as soon as indoor health is a quality goal - with glass mosaic tiles – when it comes to creating a sparkling reflective wall - with fittings (whether surface-mounted or concealed fittings) – when it comes to achieving the most reduced appearance possible Many of these quality goals have more or less relevance for the interested buyer. The ratio of durability to price is only one of them. By the way, one can certainly speak of qualitative differences in art without thinking about durability even for a moment.

At 2000€ per square meter of living space: According to user reports, this seems feasible if one has simple building conditions (flat uncomplicated terrain, simple building shape...) and disciplinedly prioritizes this benchmark as a criterion.

Ok, I think mainly about utility and durability, those would probably be my first quality criteria. Then certainly maintenance, reliability. And in addition the relation to the price. Aesthetic criteria are also not foreign to me, but I have a sneaky pleasure in considering how to make it both affordable and beautiful. Because anyone can order chrome edges, choosing a design where even chrome would be perceived as a disturbance, that is an art.

It is feasible, but without land costs. In SH it goes below 2000. Although no longer 1500,- which was still possible until 2015 2016.
