That’s true and they really are the main culprits. Unfortunately, the female is of the type: 1 spot or worn once and it gets washed. Naturally, I see it differently (of course underwear is changed daily!), and would prefer to air it out and wear it a second time.

Then put the children's clothes back directly into the wardrobe in the evening, then everyone thinks they are new and washed. In my experience, that works great.

We are a 4-person household with two older teenagers and always have about 3300 kWh consumption. No dryer, no outdoor ambient lighting, outdoor lighting only with a switch because otherwise the light would constantly turn on due to various animals in the garden when using motion sensors, only LED lights in the house, ... When the dishwasher is almost full with three lunch boxes, I would just quickly rinse these three things by hand. Our dishwasher runs twice every three days (I always wash frying pans, wooden boards, kitchen knives, and large dishes that are only slightly dirty and would take up a lot of space in the dishwasher by hand), and the washing machine runs about every other day.

Hand washing is not necessarily more efficient either... If you wash like most hand washers, it is better to run the machine one more time.

So in 2023 we had a self-consumption (electricity from photovoltaics) of 2,100 kWh and a consumption of 4,500 kWh = so we have an electricity demand of 6,600 kWh per year including air-water heat pump and ventilation system.

If I roughly calculate without heating, we need about 150 kWh household electricity per month. That wouldn't even be 2,000 kWh per year. And we feel like we're not saving on anything!

Sorry - miscalculated. It's about 3,000 kWh per month - so we would be just under 4,000 kWh per year.
