And if you don’t want to maintain a garden anyway, then it is ideal anyway. At least you can close the door behind you and travel.

A semi-detached house would definitely be preferable; the garden to be maintained is exactly the same size whether it’s a semi-detached house or a detached house – there is simply more contiguous space and it is better to use.

That is nonsense. It is definitely enough for the sandbox or the trampoline and the small above-ground pool. And that satisfies 98% of all kids and parents. A few flowers/plants all around and the garden is complete.
