But you surely don’t take this (see marking) seriously, do you (?)

But that's how it is. And as a layperson, you believe that at first, but then doubts arose, and that's why I asked here. On this occasion: my general contractor does not want to plaster an area of 7m outside because this wall is covered by a prefabricated garage that runs about 20cm next to the house. Of that, 1m is also not plastered on the other side of the wall in the area of a drywall installation, so inside not plastered. Is that technically acceptable? It would not be visible because it is covered by the garage.

If the garage – which in itself already sounds like at least a logistical planning error – stands 20 cm away, it only "covers" it visually (?).

For the 20 cm, the main contractor is not responsible, but the neighbor who uses my airspace for a sheet on his garage and does not dismantle it, and additionally the main contractor avoids the risk of installing the next larger garage with extremely little space on the left and right. If I understand your answer correctly, there is a risk of moisture penetrating into the masonry, at least if no tight connection to the house is made?

The airtightness is achieved by the plaster. I would not voluntarily do without it or any other solution at any point.

The risk is that this is a mess in several ways. It's best to show the whole situation, with a plan and several photos. The house will hardly be airtight without the exterior plaster, even for the blower door test ...
