Hello,

I am currently working on the electrical planning of our new building. I have (somewhat amateurishly) created a drawing of the sockets and switches with lighting and blinds/roller shutters. It is sometimes a bit crooked and uneven, and the orientation of the individual symbols is not always 100% accurate for display reasons. However, the exact number of the respective sockets/switches/ceiling spots, etc., has been marked.

I am hoping for feedback on the exact positioning as well as the number of the individual components. What is missing where, and where might there be too much?

For better distinction, I have divided the individual floor plans into sockets/connections and switches for lighting/blinds/roller shutters.

In the basement, all roller shutters will be executed as strap versions, in the ground floor as venetian blinds, and in the attic as electric roller shutters. If a blind switch is drawn, it applies to all blinds in the respective room. The red numbers refer to the numbering of the light outlets.

I look forward to your opinions

Just for the kitchen... the ceiling spots illuminate the hallway and the person standing in front of the work surface by the window, casting stylish shadows on the work surface.

In the kitchen, the sockets that need/should be specially protected (dishwasher, oven, additional oven) should be appropriately marked.

In the children's rooms and bedrooms, in addition to the main light, I would also make the sockets intended for bedside lighting switchable from both the bed and the entrance. The bedside light is actually the much more pleasant light to wake up to in the morning, and it's great to be able to turn it off from the room entrance as well.

I am missing power outlets near the windows. Also one in the storage room. Generally too few LAN ports, so also in the bedroom and in the living room at the TV at least 2x double outlets.

Here I personally wonder by now... why? I did it like this myself, double sockets almost everywhere, ... what do I actually use of that? Honestly, only one of the two behind the lowboard in the living room (TV + Playstation). Everything else runs over WLAN, all laptops, tablets, phones, printers, phone (DECT), music boxes ... even the TV in the bedroom runs via WLAN (although one was planned and is present directly behind it). HD movies are absolutely no problem, no dropouts at all, there would be no advantage to wiring at all.

Sure, the required bandwidths will increase in the future, but then the next WLAN standard will be ready as well... I personally lack the imagination of what I will ever need all those CAT 7 cables in my house for. The trend is going everywhere towards wireless, I don't see that reversing again.

I would plan the kitchen LEDs 30cm away from the exterior wall above the countertop, not above the hallway. Between the guest room door and the living room door, I would add an outlet for vacuuming. Next to the children's beds, I would plan at least one triple socket each and sockets next to the windows for Christmas lights.

Best regards
Sabine

How should the statement about the Jalousie switches be understood? Should all Jalousies in one room always operate the same way? If so, I would reconsider that; I find it quite useful to be able to control blinds and jalousies individually (especially if they are not on the same side of the house).
