Yes, some of these are older photos, but externally, except for the windows and vegetation, hardly anything has changed.
We want to stay living there, which is why changes to the existing structure (e.g. removing walls) are hardly possible.
The conservatory was functionally within the thermal envelope. Meanwhile, the radiator has been removed and the panes provide zero insulation (it is glazed all around). So I would no longer count it as part of the thermal envelope.
Furthermore, it is completely worn out structurally and ready for demolition.

Many thanks for the ideas. Do I understand correctly that these are two options for the ground floor? Where will the second children's room be located? Above the extension on the upper floor? Then there would be no access without a walk-through room. The kitchen would not work well on the right side of the plan (because of the parquet floor and the wood stove). Also, the extensive wall shifts and removals would cause a lot of structural problems. Why didn't you make the extension full width? Wouldn't it then seem somewhat "abrupt" in the overall impression? Or is it because of the house connections?

Exactly for that reason. I just wanted to show options. Whether good or bad didn't matter to me.

OK, now I understand the idea behind it. Is your plan for an extension only on the ground floor or also on the upper floor? In the second case, I don't understand the connection of the room on the upper floor. The current kitchen is a bit too small. You just get in each other's way there. Also, neither of us wants an open kitchen. At most a double sliding door.

Sorry for the confusion. I thought a picture says more than a thousand words, that a smaller extension is also rubbish. However, I just didn’t want to spend ages drawing on roof walls. I also didn’t want to delete it.

However, one could install a cover on top so that it is as you planned there. That then as a roof. I also find it a bit too difficult now because as an outsider you don't know what has already been done with you and what has not. Find out what this relocation of the connections costs. I am curious.
