If you have LTE or even 5G in the house/apartment, you don't need additional antennas or anything like that. Just Gigacube or the equivalent from Telekom and that's it. Alternatively, a router with a SIM card (like e.g. Fritz LTE) and insert a data card.

You can save yourself the trouble, since you don’t even know which tower is supplying you or where it is located. If antenna, then simply a good omnidirectional antenna in a good position with a good (!) cable. But you only need all that if you have hardly any reception in the apartment and the device has external antenna connectors. I would first try the equipment from the provider and then think further.

Thanks, I will do that. We are going back to the apartment in April to renovate. Until then, I will simply get such a router and put a prepaid card in it or something to test how the upstream and downstream are.

I set up an o2 Homespot for an acquaintance. Advantage unlimited traffic, no one else offered that last year, I don't know if that's still the case today. He mainly uses it for IPTV. No, not Netflix but Italian channels, etc..

There was only a 4000 landline connection.

So far it’s working.

We have the Gigacube here in our temporary rental apartment. If you ask me specific questions, I can get the answers for you. My husband takes care of that. That the Gigacube looks nice probably won’t help you much? ;-)

The Gigacube is self-explanatory. In the flex version, there is no contract commitment. Unpack, insert SIM card, plug in, enter WLAN code on tablet PC etc., done. You pay from the moment you plug it in for 30 days. If you unplug it, you don’t pay in the following month; plug it back in, pay for another month, and so on. It does not support roaming and only works in Germany. But then everywhere where there is a power outlet: campsite, terrace, holiday apartment, etc. etc. The thing is a fair offer from Vodafone, especially since they have a great LTE network.
