Experiences with Liapor expanded clay walls?

We switched from the material Liapor/Liaplan to the GU. With our imaginative floor plan, we went to the factory tour, we liked the material and its properties. And at the factory, there was a list of companies that also specialize in custom floor plans and custom-built houses, and do not just build identical houses in series.

I have contacted:

- Hauser
- Grundhaus
- Nuedling
- LiaStone
- Kastell

My ideal scenario would be that one of these companies takes my individual floor plan as a basis, manufactures the wall elements, and assembles them at my place. Ideally including ceiling and roof – I have read that this is also possible with Liapor concrete.

Let's see what the feedback will be.

Exterior plaster was applied "in the usual way" on site. Inside, the walls were already very good, but due to small splatters and scratches, we still had to have some (brief) filling and sanding done for Q3. I think the shorter construction time is hardly an argument for this building method; there are other advantages for that.

I'm actually not concerned about the construction time. Rather, it's about the simplicity, ideally having only one layer as the wall. Additionally, the material properties (acceptable thermal insulation, high soundproofing, moisture regulation, temperature and weather resistance) and as a variant "exposed concrete" are exactly to my taste.

Now it remains to find out how it compares price-wise to a "standard solid house with brick and ETICS" and "timber frame construction with usual wall structures."

The exposed concrete was not quite easy to implement for us, however. First of all, you need to be aware that at least my manufacturer of the walls will not offer you exposed concrete quality. Meeting the conditions for exposed concrete on a system that normally produces Liapor walls is probably impossible. Anyway, we were warned in advance and knew what could happen. Our concrete wall had strong red streaks and other spots. The texture was great but the color... hmm. We then achieved a suitable result for us with very little gray wall paint and a lot of colorless primer after, I believe, 5 coats. It doesn’t look painted but the spots are gone.
