Since I have been concerned about the choice of material for some time and I am not a fan of aerated concrete and can't really warm up to bricks either, I came across clay aggregate walls. Among other things, I am in contact with Lechner Massivhaus and Kastell. We are still quite at the beginning, but especially Kastell makes a good impression. However, they told me right away that they can only build the shell for us, because their partner does not travel that far out.

I don't have any prices yet. We also don't want any insulation, just the plastered wall, no ventilation system if possible, and that's fine.
What have you decided now? Have you already been able to compare prices? Is a clay aggregate wall really such a jack-of-all-trades?

No wall system is a jack of all trades. They all have their specific advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages of expanded clay prefab walls (my very subjective opinion)
- monolithic wall construction possible
- easy to drill/simple wall mounting
- easy to drill/simple wall mounting
- good sound insulation with low (interior) wall thicknesses
- personally sufficient thermal insulation for me

Disadvantages:
- inflexible once planning is completed (electrical, window position...)
- not "waterproof" without exterior plaster —> water can penetrate the wall. However, it does not absorb like aerated concrete
- thermal insulation in monolithic construction disadvantageous compared to e.g. aerated concrete
- few providers —> limited selection

Among other things at https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/hauser-massivbau-gmbh-voehringen-erfahrungen.34015/page-6#post-479635 I have also already commented on such matters, and , to my recollection, built satisfactorily with Weton (based in the Limburg area). Dennert also comes to mind; in my pumice stone area, a lot is also built with Bisotherm. I do not see the world-shaking difference between pumice stone and expanded clay; from my point of view, they are siblings of different densities.

Don't know, Bims didn’t really convince me in terms of thermal or sound insulation, one of the two. But I need both.

Unfortunately, Weton doesn’t build for us -.- and there’s another company near them, but we’re unfortunately too far away for them as well.
